7 Clans First Council Casino Hotel opened in March 2008. It is located south of the Kansas/Oklahoma border in Newkirk, OK. This is 30 minutes north of Ponca City. The casino and hotel are owned by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe.

In 2018 the 7 Clans First Council Casino expanded its hotel with construction of a second hotel tower. It also added an indoor water park that opened in February 2019. The hotel tower is named The Oceanside Hotel. It has 60 rooms and is located next to the water park.

The 7 Clans First Council Casino Hotel is owned by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma. The tribe also owns 7 Clans Gasino Chilocco, 7 Clans Paradise Casino, 7 Clans Casino Perry, 7 Clans Gasino Red Rock.

Teh hotel has two towers one named The Beachfront Hotel and the other The Oceanside Hotel. The total guest rooms are 146. Waterpark passes are included with all hotel rooms.

THE BEACHFRONT HOTEL

This hotel tower is located closer to the entrance of the casino and offers 86 rooms.

THE OCEANSIDE HOTEL

This hotel tower was built in 2018 and is located next to the Waterpark. It offers 60 family-friendly suites.

The 7 Clans First Council Casino Hotel in Newkirk, Oklahoma invited VIP guests to the casino on May 2nd to begin a phased-in reopening process. Beginning on Thursday May 7th the casino will operate daily with limited hours from 2PM to 2AM. Slot machines are available but table games are closed.

The hotel, waterpark, arcade and food outlets remain closed.

Over the next few weeks, there will be similar openings at the four other 7 Clans properties: 7 Clans Paradise Casino in Red Rock, Oklahoma, 7 Clans Perry Casino in Perry, Oklahoma, 7 Clans Chilocco Casino in Newkirk, Oklahoma and 7 Clans Red Rock Casino in Red Rock, Oklahoma.

New Waterpark opens Feb 25 at 7 Clans First Council Casino and Hotel

After a year-long construction project, the First Council Casino is opening its new Waterpark, an indoor water park for the exclusive use of hotel guests.

The 20,000-square-foot water park includes three large slides, a pool for teenagers, a pool for children and a lazy river. The hours are 11:00 am till 8:00 pm everyday all year.

Waterpark passes are free to all hotel guests that stay at either The Oceanside Hotel or The Beachfront Hotel. The Oceanside Hotel has family-friendly suites and is adjacent to the Waterpark.

The Otoe-Missouria tribe striving to be a top entertainment destination in North Central Oklahoma and will plan to bring more things to do for their casino guests and families.

7 Clans First Council Casino plans expansion including an indoor water park

The Otoe-Missouria tribe is proud to announce the latest expansion of the 7Clans First Council Hotel and Casino property north of Newkirk, Oklahoma. The tribe has broken ground today on a project that will create a year-round destination for family entertainment.

Included in the expansion are:

1. A 30,000 square foot water park which includes four large thrill rides, a children's pool with additional slides, a separate teenage pool, and a lazy river.
2. 60 additional suite-style rooms, including many with bunk beds, to bring the hotel capacity to 146 rooms.
3. A second-floor arcade adjoining the hotel expansion and water park.
4. Food and Beverage service for the water park, two additional meeting rooms plus a substantial addition of gaming space.

The project is scheduled to be completed and open for business in late December 2018 and will bring approximately 70 new jobs to the area.

Otoe-Missouria Chairman John R. Shotton says this is just the latest development that the tribe has created to continue on a path of economic sovereignty.

'The Otoe-Missouria tribe is excited to break ground on the 7Clans First Council Hotel expansion and indoor waterpark,' Shotton says. 'This project is next phase in our plan to be the top entertainment destination in North Central Oklahoma. Building upon our outstanding gaming and hotel facilities as well as our unique concert venue, we look forward to offering even more entertainment options to our patrons and their families. The expansion will provide a family entertainment experience unlike any other in our region.'

7Clans Casino CEO Bruce Barnett believes the water park creates a unique opportunity for 7Clans First Council Casino and Hotel.

'Having the indoor water park adds year-round entertainment value for the entire family and will be a differentiator for our property,' Barnett says.

John Lyden began serving as the Chief Financial Officer of the Otoe-Missouria Development Authority this past July. Mr. Lyden brings years of insight and acumen with him from his previous post with Great Wolf Lodge Resorts. Jim Grant serves as the properties General Manager.

Crosswinds Casino opened to the public on March 2, 2021 (see video). The casino is located in Park City off I-135 near 77th North about 10 miles north of Wichita.

Crosswinds Casino

The U.S. Department of Interior has approved the plan of the Wyandotte Nation to build a casino in Park City, Kansas. Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs Tara Sweeney signed the approval May 20. 2020 and the Federal Register recorded it June 3, 2020. This authorizes the federal government to transfer the tribe's 10.24-acre casino site located in Park City into federal trust for the purpose of gaming. A temporary casino opened in Sept. 2020 while the Crosswinds Casino was under construction.

Kansas Lawsuit
In Augusr 2020 Kansas filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Interior in an effort to block construction of the Crosswinds Casino. The lawsuit is still pending and has been joined by the city of Mulvane and the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and the Sac and Fox Nation.

Crosswinds Casino opened March 2, 2021.
With the federal lawsuit still pending, the Wyandotte Nation proceeded and opened the Crosswinds Casino on March 2, 2021. The casino features 700 Class II slots and video gaming terminals. Poker and bingo are also planned but are delayed due to COVID-19 safety concerns. There is also a Bar & Cafe and a High Limit Lounge.

Future Plan
The Wyandotte Nation hopes to negotiate a gaming compact with the State of Kansas to allow Vegas-style (Class III) slot machines and table games.

Crosswinds Casino opens March 2 in Park City, KS

The Wyandotte Nation will open its new Crosswinds Casino next week on March 2, 2021. The casino is located in Park City, KS about 10 miles north of Wichita.

The 20,000-square-foot casino will offer 500 slot machines, 200 VGT machines and a high limit lounge. Poker and bingo will be offered at a later date.

Crosswinds Casino will feature Class II gaming, where palyers gamble against other players and not the house. The Wyandotte Nation hopes to negotiate a gaming compact with Kansas to allow Class III gaming, which includes Vegas-style slot machines, table games and other house-banked games.

Kansas sues U.S. Interior Dept to block Wyandotte Nation casino near Wichita

August 16, 2020

The State of Kansas has sued the U.S. Department of the Interior to block construction of a Wyandotte Nation casino near Wichita. The lawsuit was filed last Monday by Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt in U.S. District Court in Kansas.

Last May the U.S. Department of the Interior approved plans for the Wyandotte Nation to proceed with building a casino on a 10-acre site located ten miles north of Wichita in Park City, Kansas. The casino land was purchased by the tribe in 1992

Other invested interests have joined Attorney General Schmidt in the lawsuit to block the Park City casino, which is 30 miles from Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane. Those parties include the City of Mulvane, Sumner County, Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Sac and Fox Nation.
